As I heard that hamsters have been fully domesticated, I can only imagine that sir humphrey your heaven is a rly nice pristine cage, just like your old one (familiarity), but not rusted, never dusty, and never needing to be cleaned, and pimped up with comfyness, with food that you like, and occasional tissue paper that you sometimes go cray with.. And everyday you just be cute and fluffy, and lie in cute positions as you sleep and slack haha. In case you have ever wanted to roam free, you can will be transported into any setting you want to play. Thinking of you :)

dad insisted i throw away the cage cos it was given along with sir humphrey and is old. i was told to empty out the litter and sand but no need to clean it this last time. this reminded me of how someone who's passed on, their stuff gets thrown away too, rather than given away.

as i brought the cage in a plastic bag down to the void deck i walked past my floor's lift lobby, where my old bike that's super rusted cos i had it when i was a kid but not ride it much, sits at the corner of the staircase landing, tied to the pipe. and i thought about the stuff that will get left behind too, one day when i move on.

in spring, a disciple saw a tree's leaves rustling in the wind. he then asked the master: "is it the leaves that move or is it the wind that is moving?"

without even looking up, the master replied: "neither. it is your heart and mind that is moving."

~

one day in autumn, the disciple woke up, crying. the master asked: "what's wrong? did you have a bad dream?"

the disciple replied: "no. I had a good dream."

the master, curious now, asks: "if so, then why are you crying?"

"because that dream can never come true."
